Emergency Crews Respond to Incident at Palisades State Park

Emergency crews responded to a situation at Palisades State Park in Linn County on Wednesday night.
The Linn County Sheriff’s Office says dispatch received an emergent call around 3:30 pm for a person who went into the water and began to struggle.
Agencies at the scene include the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, Linn County Rescue, Mount Vernon – Lisbon Police, Iowa State Patrol, the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Lisbon – Mount Vernon Fire, Cedar Rapids Fire Department River Rescue, Mount Vernon – Lisbon Ambulance, and Lifeguard Air Ambulance.
Emergency responders remain on scene and continue to search the Cedar River. Further information will be released as it becomes available.
