Independence voters are heading to the polls today to choose a new mayor.
Mayor Bob Hill died suddenly in April at the age of 70. He took office in January and had served on the city council for more than a decade.
The City is holding a special election today to fill the vacant seat. Three candidates are on today’s ballot – Nathan Hansen, Brad Bleichner and Denny Vaughn.
Polls will be open from 7 am to 8 pm at the Falcon Civic Center in Independence.
