“Back the Blue” will be back for its second year in Manchester.
Last summer’s free event at Tirrill Park gave the community a chance to interact with local law enforcement while enjoying a night out with their neighbors with games, food and fun.
Delaware County Pay It Forward hosts “Back the Blue” and committee member Kristi Goedken says this year, it’s set for Tuesday night, August 2nd from 4 to 8 pm at the Delaware County Fairgrounds (a new location to allow for more parking). They’re bringing back the Pie in the Face, Tug of War competition and the Dunk Tank – and also adding a Fast Pitch Game and a silent auction. She says they’re hoping to see everyone there.
If you’d like to donate door prizes or silent auction items for the event, the group is happy to accept those through Monday, July 25th. You can contact Kristi or Missi McIntyre. Monetary donations can also be dropped off at Dupaco or through Venmo. More information is available on the group’s Facebook page.
This year’s “Back the Blue” event proceeds will benefit the new K-9 unit at the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office.
