Lynda Lou Burgin, 70, of Edgewood, Iowa, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2022, at the Regional
Medical Center in Manchester. She was born on April 10, 1952, in Edgewood, the daughter of
Clarence and Gladys (Wonleighton) Krapfl. Lynda was raised in the Elkader area and was a 1971
graduate of Central High School.
On June 5, 1971, Lynda was united in marriage to Thomas Burgin at the Congregational Church in
Edgewood. Two sons were born to this union. Lynda worked for Lewis Bins in Manchester until
her retirement in 2016. She enjoyed flowers and working in her gardens. Lynda loved her family
and spending time with them, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas Burgin of Edgewood; her son, Tim (Jody) Burgin of
Edgewood; daughter-in-law, Jodi Burgin of Edgewood; seven grandchildren, Holly, Josh, Nick,
Dakota, Sammy, Alley, and Alivia; seven great-grandchildren; her siblings, Mary (Gene) Holthaus
of Edgewood, Carol (Larry) Moser of Garnavillo, Dewey (Candy) Krapfl of Winthrop, Tommy
(Nancy) Krapfl of Center Point, and Donald Krapfl of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.
Lynda was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Dean Burgin in 2014; three sisters, Sharon
Krapfl, Wendy Krapfl, and Judy Anderson; a brother, Dick Krapfl; and a sister-in-law, Wanda
