Margaret Allene Lillig, 98, of Manchester, Iowa, formerly of Keota, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, July 26,
2022, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester. She was born on January 9, 1924, in Washington, Iowa, the
daughter of Clarence and Grace (Lambert) McNurlen. Margaret was raised and educated in Keota and graduated
from Keota High School.
On July 11, 1947, Margaret was united in marriage to LeRoy Lillig. Two children were born to this union. The
family resided in Keota. Margaret worked as a secretary for the Keota School District. She enjoyed crocheting and camping. Margaret loved her family and spending time with them.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Linda Lillig; nine grandchildren, Scott (Julie) Lillig, Jennifer (Steve) Bohr,
Andrea (Mike) Baumert, Ryan (Lacey) Lillig, Matt (Amanda) Lillig, Steve (Lynne) McCrabb, Dan (Vickie) McCrabb, Shelly McCrabb, and Josh (Jay) Messner; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, LeRoy in 2008; a son, Michael Lillig; her daughter,
Susan (Bill) Messner; and a brother, Bill McNurlen.
