A New Vienna native has joined Black Hills Energy in one of their leadership roles.
Steve Lukan has been hired as the company’s Manager of Iowa Governmental Affairs.
Lukan recently worked as the Executive Director of the Department of Veterans Affairs for the State of Iowa. He held that post since 2017 after being appointed by Governors Terry Branstad and Kim Reynolds.
Before joining the executive branch, Lukan served as a State Representative from 2003 to 2012, representing Delaware and Dubuque counties. He also spent four years serving our country in the Navy.
Black Hills Energy Vice President of Iowa Gas Shirley Welte says Lukan brings with him knowledge and experience that will serve the company and customers well.
