This is a big week for Dyersville, as they get ready to host thousands of visitors for the Major League Baseball game at the Field of Dreams.
Along with Thursday night’s MLB game, the community will be celebrating with a festival all week long. It’s called Beyond the Game – and Dyersville Chamber Director Karla Thompson says it all kicks off today.
Wednesday will be the first day of Fan Fest.
Thursday’s the big day, with the Chicago Cubs taking on the Cincinnati Reds at the field.
And they’ll wrap up the Beyond the Game Festival on Friday.
The festival is free and open to everyone.
Thompson says they could still use some help with parking and the kids zone area and the MLB still needs help with game parking and overnight security – contact the Dyersville Chamber at 875-2311 if you’re interested.
She says the community learned a lot from last year’s inaugural event – including Dyersville’s businesses, which have created their own merchandise.
And she says Dyersville is pretty grateful to have this all taking place in their hometown.
