Delaware County Representing Well at Iowa State Fair

The Iowa State Fair kicks off today in Des Moines – and Delaware County is well represented again this year.

Fifteen youth traveled to Des Moines yesterday for the State Dairy Judging Contest. Three 4-Hers are participating today in the Wardrobe Clothing Event. A total of thirty-eight Delaware County 4-Hers will be exhibiting in livestock shows throughout the State Fair. Fifty-three static projects will be on display in the 4-H Building. And several 4-H members are participating in communication events – either in Share the Fun, Educational Presentations, Extemporaneous Speaking or Working Exhibits. You can find a list of the participants below.

And Roger and Jody Helmrichs of Delaware County will be inducted into the Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame next weekend.

The Iowa State Fair runs through Sunday, August 21st.
