James Jerome Joslyn- Aurora, Colorado (formerly of Manchester)

James Jerome Joslyn, 84, of Aurora, Colorado, passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2018. He was born August 4,
1933, the son of Hareld and Fern (Hindal) Joslyn in Iowa. Jim graduated from Oneida High School in 1950. He then
served in the United States Army as a Corporal (Anti-Aircraft Unit) in Oxford, England. After his honorable
discharge from the United States Army, Jim continued his education. He attended the National School of Meat
Cutting in Toledo, Ohio, a short course in Dairy Herd Improvement Association and the Iowa State University in
Ames, Iowa.

On May 6, 1956, Jim was united in marriage to Marilyn Matthews at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Two
sons were born to this union. Jim was a meat cutter and market manager at Longs Market in Manchester, Iowa
from 1956 until 1961. He was then a Federal Meat and Food Inspector for the USDA for 20 years. Jim began
working for Capital American Life Insurance Company in 1981 and worked ten years before retiring in 1991 and
moving to Florida. Jim and Marilyn then moved to Colorado in 2002. Jim had suffered from Parkinson Disease
since 2012.

Jim loved all sports. He always enjoyed going for walks and was a happy go lucky guy. Jim always had a smile and
was a wonderful husband and father. We miss him greatly.

Survivors include is wife of 62 years, Marilyn Joslyn of Aurora, Colorado; his two sons, Mitchell Joslyn and
Kurt Joslyn, both of Aurora, Colorado; and his brother, Dennis Joslyn.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Hareld and Fern Joslyn; his two brothers, Hareld Joslyn and Harley

Memorial Service: 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 15, 2022, at Leonard-muller Funeral Home in Manchester,
Iowa, with Pastor Mike Jackson officiating.

Inurnment: At a later date at Oakland Cemetery in Manchester, Iowa.
