Increased Officers on Roads Over Labor Day Holiday

Officers will be keeping a close eye on the roads over the Labor Day holiday.

The U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is partnering with the State Highway Safety Offices in several states, including Iowa, to emphasize the importance of driving sober and saving lives.

The campaign, Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over, kicked off August 17th and runs through Labor Day, September 5th. Local law enforcement will show zero tolerance for impaired driving, with increased officers on the road.

If you’ll be out celebrating over the Labor Day holiday, authorities urge you to have a sober driver or plan to use a ride service to get home safely.
