North Linn students will need to wait a little longer before heading back to school.
The district is holding off on the start of the school year due to asbestos issues discovered during their construction project. Superintendent Dave Hoeger explains.
Hoeger says they have crews cleaning the buildings, with more tests expected to be done next week. If the tests come back good, their middle school and elementary will open back up to staff and other workers. He says they’ll also need to finish their fire alarm set-up and get that operable too.
Hoeger says they had already planned on a late start for North Linn this year due to the construction project, with the first day of school originally set for Tuesday, September 6th.
