The New Vienna community rallied again this year to support a local family.
Every year for the past several decades, the New Vienna Benefit Tractor Pull chooses a beneficiary to receive the proceeds raised from their event. This year’s beneficiary was 2-year old Braxton Pape.
Braxton is the son of Austin and Amber Pape of rural Dyersville. He was diagnosed with a rare form of aggressive non-Hodgkins lymphoma late last year and has been undergoing intense chemotherapy treatments ever since.
A huge crowd turned out to support Braxton at the tractor pull on Sunday, with a live and silent auction, bake sale and 50-50 raffle also bringing in funds for the Pape family.
