New COVID Booster Targeting Omicron Variant Available in Delaware County

There’s a new COVID-19 booster shot available in Delaware County – though in limited supply right now.

Delaware County Public Health Supervisor Krystle DeShaw says the updated version targets the Omicron variant.

If it has been two months or more since you’ve received a COVID vaccine, you’re likely eligible for a booster. If you’ve recently had COVID, you can wait about three months to get your vaccine or booster. Delaware County Public Health recommends everyone six months and older should get their COVID primary series doses – and those five and older should get their primary series and booster doses. 

DeShaw says the new Omicron booster is available in limited supply in Delaware County, though they are expecting to see more come in later this month or in early October.
