Volunteers will be in Earlville today building beds for local kids.
It’s a Bed Build event hosted by the Delaware County chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace. The chapter was started a couple years ago by Hopkinton resident and Manchester banker Keith Kramer. Sleep in Heavenly Peace builds and delivers beds to kids in Delaware County who don’t have one – they’re either sleeping on the couch, a mattress or on the floor.
The chapter has been able to build and deliver over 230 beds in the past two years – and they don’t plan to stop until every child has a bed. They’ll be building thirty beds at today’s Bed Build event in Earlville. Anyone is welcome to help – you don’t need to have any experience and they provide all the tools.
Sleep in Heavenly Peace is also in need of pillows and new twin bed sheets for younger kids.
For more information, you can reach out to Keith at 920-6256.
Today’s Bed Build in Earlville starts at 4 pm at the city park.
