Friends of Castle Theatre Holding Annual Meeting

The Friends of Castle Theatre are giving you a chance to get involved with Delaware County’s only movie theater.

They’re inviting you to join them at their annual meeting this Saturday – and possibly join their board.

Manchester’s historic Castle Theatre first opened in 1935 – and as board member Jack Klaus explains, a group of volunteers saved the theatre from the closing just over a decade ago in 2009.

Castle Theatre is now a non-profit – and relies on donations to keep operating. Klaus says their goal from the beginning was to keep theater costs as low as they could so local residents didn’t have to travel far to enjoy a night of entertainment.

For a suggested donation of $25, you can be a Friend of Castle Theatre. Klaus says mailings were sent out a couple weeks ago and anyone who has donated in the past year is welcome to attend the Friends of Castle Theatre’s annual meeting this Saturday.

Saturday’s Friends of Castle Theatre annual meeting begins at 10 am at the theater in downtown Manchester.
