Western Dubuque School Bus Rear-Ended in Highway 151 Accident

A Western Dubuque school bus was rear-ended in an accident on Wednesday afternoon.

It happened on Highway 151 at Monastery Road around 3:15 pm. The Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office says 52-year old James Daly was parked about three feet off the roadway checking his school bus after dropping off his last student when a mini-van crossing the highway from Skyline Road lost control and hit the back of the bus.

The mini-van’s driver, 53-year old Marshall Wright, was transported to a Dubuque hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Wright was cited for using an electronic device while driving.

Authorities say the school bus sustained around $12,000 in damage and was driven from the scene.
