Farley Man Dies in Farming Accident

A Farley man died in a farming accident on Saturday night.

The Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office says shortly before 9:30 pm, their deputies responded to 27249 Dyersville East Road north of Farley for a report of a farming accident. 

Workers were unhooking a silage wagon when it started rolling backward. The Sheriff’s Office says 25-year old Austin Gaul got caught under the wheels and was run over. 

Gaul was transported to Mercy Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. 

Dyersville Police, Farley Ambulance and Epworth Ambulance also assisted at the scene.
