An Oelwein man was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash near Oelwein early Saturday morning.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office says they received a 911 call of an accident one mile west of town on 35th Street near R Avenue shortly before 2:30 am. 50-year old David Watt was traveling eastbound when he lost control and tipped over on the roadway.
Watt suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to Mercy One Hospital in Oelwein and then transferred to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
The accident remains under investigation.
