A groundbreaking ceremony will be held today for the Field of Dreams expansion project.
Go the Distance Baseball LLC is privately developing a premier youth baseball and softball destination called “Project Heaven” with fields, dormitories and a hotel at the movie site in Dyersville.
Among those at today’s groundbreaking ceremony will be the field’s new owner – Go the Distance Baseball CEO and baseball hall of famer Frank Thomas – along with chief officers, investors, designers and community leaders.
Work on the expansion project actually started earlier this month, but today’s groundbreaking ceremony will mark the occasion.
Today’s event is not open to the public.
