Alvin L Tibbott – Greeley

Alvin L Tibbott, 90, of Greeley, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2022, at the
Edgewood Convalescent Home in Edgewood.

He was born on November 1, 1931, in Edgewood, the son of Gordon and Adelia (Kruger) Tibbott. Alvin graduated from Greeley High School and served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War.

On March 8, 1952, Alvin was united in marriage to Sarah Hines at Manchester. Three sons were born to this union. Alvin worked for Iowa Electric for 25 years. He was a volunteer fire fighter for the Manchester Fire Department for over 20 years. In 1977 the couple moved near Greeley to farm. While on the farm, Alvin enjoyed his farm animals, especially his mules.

Alvin was an active member of the Greeley United Methodist Church.Survivors Include his wife of 70 years, Sarah Tibbott; his three sons, David (Jean Cornwell) Tibbott of Greeley, Robert (Laurie) Tibbott of Manchester, and Thomas (Suzy) Tibbott of Manchester; four grandchildren, Jerry (Wendy) Tibbott, Alex (Sara) Tibbott, Adam Tibbott and Angi (Clinton) Brogan; four great-grandchildren, Tessa and Christopher Tibbott, and Kash and Hank Brogan; his brother, Merwin Tibbott; two sisters, Margaret March and Helen Amling; and
two sisters-in-law, Deidre Tibbott and Shirley Chesmore.

Alvin was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Donald, Charles, and Roger; two brothers-in-law, Ronnie March and Gene Amling; and two sisters-in-laws, Mary Tibbott and Lois Tibbott.
