St. Olaf Tavern Among Finalists for Best Pork Tenderloin Contest

A local restaurant is among the finalists for Iowa’s Best Breaded Pork Tenderloin Contest.

St. Olaf’s Tavern in St. Olaf has made the top five, along with Lid’s Bar & Grill in Waukon, Ludlow’s Steakhouse in Corydon, Main Street Bar & Grill in Massena and 5th Quarter Bar & Grill in Van Meter.

The Iowa Pork Producers Association hosts the contest each October to celebrate National Pork Month. The annual quest to find the state’s juiciest, most flavorful tenderloin sandwich starts with public input. Each spring, tenderloin fans are given a couple months to nominate their favorites. This year, over 48-hundred votes rolled in for 449 establishments.

The Pork Producers will announce the winners of Iowa’s Best Breaded Pork Tenderloin Contest later this month.
