Manchester City Council Considering Water & Sewer Rate Increases

The City of Manchester is looking at making a slight increase in water, sewer and solid waste collection rates again.

City Manager Tim Vick says the costs for repairs and maintenance are higher than what the City is bringing in – but he notes the increases were discussed previously during the budget process, so they’re not unexpected.

The Manchester City Council approved the first reading of the ordinance on Monday night.

Manchester’s East Main Street project is also getting ready to wrap up for the year. The traffic flow has now switched from the shoulder to the newly-paved roadway.

Vick says the East Main Street project should be completed by November 1st.
