Iowa State University President Visits Delaware County to Talk 4-H
The President of Iowa State University made a visit to Delaware County on Wednesday morning.
Wendy Wintersteen spent some time meeting with Delaware County ISU Extension staff, council members and 4-H volunteers to talk about Delaware County’s successful 4-H program.
And President Wintersteen says she was impressed by what she learned about Delaware County’s 4-H program – which is one of the largest in the state.
Delaware County Extension Council Chair Roger Helmrichs told Wintersteen it’s the people that make the county’s 4-H program so successful.
President Wintersteen made several stops in northeast Iowa this week, including a stop in Dyersville to Brew & Brew and The Field of Dreams Movie Site.
And Helmrichs believes this may be the first time a sitting president at Iowa State has taken the time to visit Delaware County.
