Congresswoman Hinson Visits Clayton and Fayette Counties

Congresswoman Ashley Hinson made visits to Clayton and Fayette counties this week.

Hinson met with community leaders at the Garnavillo Community Daycare and heard about how the community has come together to provide affordable, quality child care for families in the area. She was shown their new expansion that is under construction and learned about how the expansion will benefit the center and help meet the needs of the community.

Hinson then headed to Oelwein to meet with staff at the Oelwein Center and Regional Tech Complex, where they discussed the importance of technical education and investing in the local workforce. Their partnership with the NICC and local business offers students interested in the trades unique opportunities and hands-on programs to develop technical skills and expose them to lucrative career opportunities.

And Representative Hinson also visited Fairbank to meet with staff and Wapsie Valley High School student associates from the Center for Advanced Professional Studies (CAPS) program. The students participating in the Cedar Valley CAPS Program are gaining the skills to achieve their goals and find great job opportunities in the community.
