Robert James Moroney – Manchester

Robert James Moroney, 85, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Oak Park
Place Assisting Living in Dubuque.

He was born on April 4, 1937, on the family farm near Masonville, the son of
William and Catherine (Behan) Moroney. Bob was raised and educated near Masonville and was a 1955 graduate of East Buchanan High School.

On July 6, 1968, Bob was united in marriage to Carol Brock at St. Jude Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. Six children were born to this union. The couple farmed together near Masonville until their retirement. In 2009 they moved to their home in Manchester.

Bob was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception and St. Mary Catholic Churches. He was a member of the
Knights of Columbus. Bob enjoyed playing cards, visiting casinos, and watching Westerns. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes fan. Bob knew no strangers. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s activities. Bob
loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with them.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Carol Moroney of Dubuque; his six children, Matt (Linda) Moroney of
Waukesha, Wisconsin; Molly (Joyce) Champeau of Anamosa, Suzy (Dana) Good of LeClaire, Sarah (Randy) Garcia of Bellevue, Nebraska, Joe (Becky) Moroney of Guthrie, Oklahoma, and Mike (Diana) Moroney of Dubuque; 17
grandchildren; sister, Ana Mae Dolan of Winthrop; and many nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, William and Catherine Moroney; parents-in-law, Glenn and Geneva
Brock; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Buryl Hilton; brother and sister-in-law, Francis and Mildred Moroney; and brother-in-law, Leo Dolan.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester, Iowa, with Rev. Gabriel Anderson officiating.

Visitation: 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in
Manchester, Iowa. Friends may also call one hour before the service at the church on Thursday.

Interment: St. Mary Catholic Cemetery – Masonville, Iowa
