A Fayette County man has died after being hit by a vehicle.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian on the 27000 Block of Lincoln Road, north of West Union Monday evening just before 6:30pm.
A vehicle driven by 54-year-old Guadalupe Salgado Bernal of Ossian went into a nearby ditch and was in the process of being pulled out by a nearby resident with a tractor.
A 2015 GMC Terrain driven by 64-year-old Susan Lueder drove upon the scene and attempted to drive around the tractor when she struck Bernal as he was standing in the roadway, wearing all dark clothing.
Bernal was pronounced dead at the scene. This incident remains under investigation.
