The Central City and North Linn school boards have reached an agreement to share a Superintendent starting with the 2023-2024 school year.
The Central City board approved the agreement at a special board meeting held Wednesday, November 16, the North Linn board approved the agreement at their board meeting on Tuesday, November 22.
The proposed one-year agreement will consist of a 50%-time commitment at both districts, with the provision that the agreement can be extended in subsequent years.
The new sharing agreement will create a vacancy for both districts as Alan Marshall will be completing the current year as interim superintendent for Central City and Dave Hoeger, the current shared superintendent at North Linn will be staying with Maquoketa Valley Schools, who will be sharing with Edgewood-Colesburg next year. This superintendent sharing agreement between Central City and North Linn will begin July 1, 2023.
There is no intention from either district to move toward a consolidation of Central City and North Linn.
