A Delaware County teenager was killed in an ATV accident last week.
Just after 3 pm Wednesday, the Iowa State Patrol responded to 1544 240th Street just south of Manchester for a report of an accident.
Investigators say a 14-year old boy from Manchester was driving a four-wheeler westbound on 240th Street when it lost control and went into the north ditch. The ATV bottomed out and ejected all of the riders.
One of the riders, 13-year old Charlee Engelken of Manchester, was struck by the ATV after she fell off. She was transported to Regional Medical Center, where she died from her injuries.
Charlee was a 8th grader at West Delaware Middle School. Her funeral service will be held Thursday at 10:30 am at St. Mark Catholic Church in Edgewood.Â
The ATV accident remains under investigation.
