A semi crashed off an icy bridge in Buchanan County on Tuesday morning.
It happened south of Hazleton before 7:30 am. The Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office says they received a 911 call of an accident near the intersection of 150th Street and Indiana Avenue.Â
The preliminary investigation shows a loaded semi was traveling westbound on 150th when the driver lost control on the icy roadway. The semi broke through a guardrail on a bridge and went over the side, coming to rest in the water below.Â
The driver was helped out of his vehicle with what authorities believe were minor injuries.Â
150th Street was closed between Indiana Avenue and Grant Avenue for several hours on Tuesday morning to allow for recovery and cleanup operations.Â
The Sheriff’s Office says more information will be released once the investigation is complete.
