Highway 20 Traffic Blocked Wednesday Morning Due to Jack-Knifed Semi

A jack-knifed semi-trailer blocked traffic on Highway 20 on Wednesday morning.

The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office says the semi was westbound near Delaware when it lost control and drove through the median into oncoming traffic. It blocked the entire eastbound lane before coming to a stop.

The semi driver, 53-year old George Lane of Philadelphia, and his passenger were not injured. Neither was anyone else.

The semi sustained damage to the front end of its cab. The Sheriff’s Office says Midwest Towing from Dubuque County got the semi moving again and Edgewood Auto was called in to hook up to the semi at the Delaware truck stop.

Delaware County Emergency Management says traffic was blocked on Highway 20’s eastbound lanes from Highway 38 to County Road X-35 for a period of time, with the DOT not recommending travel on Highway 20 due to the ice-covered roadway.
