Bernard J. “Bernie” Brickman, 61, of Lamont, Iowa, died Sunday, January 29, 2023, at his home.
Visitation: 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at the Grace United Methodist Church, Lamont. Final Resting Place: Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery, Fairbank, Iowa, with private family burial. Fawcett-Schmitz Funeral Home of Winthrop & Lamont are assisting the family. Bernard Joseph Brickman was born on October 5, 1961, in Independence, Iowa, the son of Bernard Edgar and Jean Ann (Westemeier) Brickman. He was raised in Lamont and graduated from Starmont High School in Arlington in the class of 1980. Bernie owned and operated Home Café in Lamont, worked at Triangle Plastics in Winthrop for over 20 years and then worked at Norby’s Farm Fleet in Manchester for over 10 years. He enjoyed gardening, bird watching, crocheting, cooking, traveling to Las Vegas, shopping, Facebook, Tiktoc
and spending time with his family and friends.
Bernie is survived by his Mother: Jean Brickman of Lamont; 4 Siblings: Bonnie (Frank) Goedken of Lamont,
Brian Brickman of Lamont, Brenda (Charles) Kramer of Manchester & Beverly (Kent) Keppler of Lamont; 6 Nieces & Nephews: Adam Kramer (Alexis Rave-Boffeli) of Masonville, Alex (Libby) Kramer of Walker, Carter Keppler of Lamont, Autumn Keppler of Lamont, Brandon Goedken of Washburn & Jacob Goedken of Lamont and a Great Nephew: Hudson Kramer.
Bernie was preceded in death his father; paternal grandparents: Edgar & Annetta (Chase) Brickman and maternal grandparents: Joseph & Virginia (Shannon) Lumsden.
