Authorities have released the name of the driver killed in a collision west of Anamosa.
The Linn County Sheriff’s Office says 46-year old Dylan Vascik of Springville died in the crash.
Vascik was northbound on Springville Road on Tuesday around 2:30 pm when his vehicle was struck by a southbound vehicle that lost control and swerved into him. It happened near the intersection with Schmidt Lane.
Vascik was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other driver, 31-year old Zachary Twachtmann of Anamosa, was transported to the Linn County Correctional Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Twachtmann’s passenger, 25-year old Mackenna Scofield of Anamosa, was transported to the hospital with what authorities believed were non-life-threatening injuries.
Twachtmann has been charged with Failure to Maintain Control of his Vehicle, Operating While Intoxicated 1st Offense and Vehicular Homicide.
The accident remains under investigation.
