Non-Profits Welcome to Apply for Foundation for the Future of Delaware County Grants

The Foundation for the Future of Delaware County is inviting local non-profits to apply for grants.
The foundation awards grants every year, with the goal to strengthen families in the communities across Delaware County. And this year, the foundation is led by a new Executive Director, Amanda Diers of Colesburg, who started in her new role last fall.
These grants play a big part in impacting local communities, with dozens of projects receiving funding over the years.
The foundation opened their annual grant cycle on February 1st, with applications being accepted through March 15th. And this year, there’s a new website and platform for the application process.
Diers says if you have any questions about applying for the grants, feel free to reach out.
The application is available at dbqfoundation.org/FFDC. For more information, contact Amanda Diers at 563-880-3816, via email at ffdc@dbqfoundation.org, or visit dbqfoundation.org/FFDC.
The Foundation for the Future will award the grants in May. Further details about the grants can be found below:
The Foundation focuses on supporting the needs of families. Projects and programs with the goal of strengthening families will be prioritized in the grantmaking cycle. The Foundation also welcomes proposals for projects that benefit a broad spectrum of the community or a chronically underserved segment of the population in the areas of health and human services; education; neighborhoods and community development; environment; children, youth and families; and arts and culture, including historic preservation.
Nonprofits in Delaware County can apply for grants for projects or programs that:
- Address significant community issues.
- Present innovative, creative and practical proposals that build on community strengths.
- Present clear work plans that show the ability to achieve the project’s goal.
- Focus on strategic innovations that encourage cooperation, create efficiencies and
reduce duplication of services. - Develop the leadership potential of the community.
- Involve the people served in the planning and implementation of the program.
- Demonstrate quality, vision, effectiveness, collaboration and good management.
- Provide a plan for sustainability beyond the funding period.
Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofits or governmental bodies. Other nonprofits with charitable projects may also qualify but must partner with a qualified nonprofit or governmental body that will serve as a sponsor.
Each year, the Foundation receives funds from the County Endowment Fund Program. The Foundation grants out 75% of these funds and invests the remaining 25% in a permanent endowment that generates interest to be distributed in future years. These grants annually support a broad range of local causes.
