Manchester Police Warn Residents of Texting Scam Impersonating Local Pastor

Manchester Police are warning the public of a texting scam impersonating a local pastor.
Reverend Tony Ede from First Lutheran Church in Manchester has asked the Manchester PD to inform people there is a texting scam being sent throughout the community. The scammers are posing as Reverend Ede, asking for donations to be sent to an email account. Most of the texts are being sent from the phone number 614-354-6485. The scammers are asking people to buy a gift card, scratch off the code and then send the code to sarahanderson@gmail.com.Â
Police say this a scam – do not buy a gift card and send the code to the account.
