Dyersville Community Celebrating St. Patrick’s Day

Dyersville isn’t going to let a little snow stop their St. Paddy’s Day fun this weekend.

The town will be holding their annual St. Patrick’s Day festivities on Saturday. And Jimmy Boeckenstedt with the Total Fitness Rec Center says it will all kick off with the Gaelic Gallop in the morning.

The Shamrock Bike Ride starts at 10:30 am at Textile Brewery, the Ancient Order of the Hibernians will be holding Mass at St. Francis Xavier Basilica at 10:30 am, and the big St. Patrick’s Day Parade starts at 1:30 pm in downtown Dyersville. And after that, you can enjoy live music, drink specials and food at various establishments, with a shuttle back and forth to Dyersville Commercial Club Park, where Not Quite Brothers will be performing at 8:30 pm Saturday night.

Boeckenstedt says St. Patrick’s Day has always been a big celebration in Dyersville. The town has many Irish Catholics celebrating their heritage – and everyone else just wants to join in the fun.

And he says it’s not too late to sign up for the Gaelic Gallop. You can sign up Saturday morning at the start line at St. Francis Xavier School between 8:15 and 9:30 am.
