Road Work to Begin on Portions of Highway 13 and Highway 3

Road work will begin next week on portions of Highway 13 and Highway 3.

The Iowa DOT says they’ll be working on an asphalt paving project on Highway 13 from Strawberry Point to Elkader. The project will require lane closures beginning Monday, April 3rd. Drivers will be directed through the work zone with flaggers and pilot cars while work is taking place. The Highway 13 project is expected to last until early August, weather permitting.

The DOT will also be working on Highway 3 from Boy Scout Road to Pfeiler Road in Dubuque County, which includes utility work in Rickardsville. The project requires closing the road to traffic starting Monday, April 3rd. Local traffic will be maintained, with thru-traffic being detoured on Highway 20 to Dyersville and Highway 52 to Luxemburg. It’s part of a $15 million construction project. The Highway 3 project should wrap up by November 1st, weather permitting.
