Beloved Greeley Landmark Safe after Vandalism Threat

Authorities say a beloved Greeley landmark remained unharmed over the weekend.
The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office had received information last week that an animal rights group was recruiting its members to attack the community’s Clydesdale statue known as Pete the Horse.Â
The statue was a gift to the Greeley community in 1987 from the Anheuser-Busch company in honor of two brothers from Greeley, Walt and Don Brady, who were drivers for the Budweiser Clydesdale hitches.Â
The information that the Sheriff’s Office received alleged that the attack would happen on Saturday, April 1st, but authorities weren’t given any specific details on the type of attack.
Sheriff John LeClere says they added extra patrols in the Greeley area on Saturday, but they had no reports of suspicious activity in Greeley and there was no damage to the monument.
