Dubuque County Home Destroyed in Fire

A Dubuque County home was destroyed in a fire Friday night.

The Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office says they were called to 6985 Highway 52 South south of Dubuque for a structure fire around 9:45 pm. Fire departments from Bellevue, Key West and Lamotte also responded.

The home was fully engulfed when emergency responders arrived. 

The only person inside the home, 39-year old Matthew Flannery, was able to get out of the home. He was transported to a Dubuque hospital, where he was treated and released. 

The home is considered a total loss, with estimated damage at $150,000.

The fire remains under investigation.
