Semi Driver Rear-Ends Tractor in Linn County While Texting

A Coggon man was injured in a collision that involved a semi driver who was texting.
It happened around 7 pm on Tuesday night on Troy Mills Road north of Rundell Road. The Linn County Sheriff’s Office says 44-year old Charles Bach was driving his tractor southbound, pulling an implement, when he was struck from behind by a semi.Â
The tractor and implement rolled, landing on its top in the roadway. The semi crossed the northbound lane of traffic and came to rest in the east ditch.Â
Bach was transported to a local hospital with what authorities believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.Â
The semi driver, 56-year old Walter Grabau of Central City, was not hurt. He was cited for using an electronic communications device while driving and following too closely.
