Severe thunderstorms moved through eastern Iowa on Wednesday morning.
Several warnings were issued for portions of Delaware, Buchanan, Dubuque, Linn and Jones counties.
The National Weather Service says they received reports of quarter-sized hail from a storm chaser a mile north/northwest of Hopkinton, as well as from residents south of Peosta and three miles north of Scotch Grove. A trained spotter also reported quarter-sized hail a mile east/northeast of Anamosa, with reports also coming in from the Dubuque and Marion areas.
And a tree in Colesburg started on fire at the Oakhill Cemetery after it was struck by lightning late Wednesday morning.
More severe storms are possible tonight into Thursday morning.
