Semi Rollover on Highway 38 in Greeley

A semi rolled over in Greeley on Wednesday afternoon.

It happened on Highway 38 around 2:45 pm. The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office says 28-year old Alexander Hawkins of Lamont was driving his semi northbound when he crossed the centerline while approaching a curve at the north end of town. Another semi was coming in the opposite lane, so Hawkins swerved to get back into his lane, hit the brakes and lost control, going into the ditch.

The trailer was loaded with grain distiller, with the entire semi and trailer rolling onto its top.

The Sheriff’s Office says Hawkins suffered possible injuries. He was charged with failing to maintain control.
