Midwest Pride In Your Ride Kicking Off with Special Thursday Ride

The annual Midwest Pride in Your Ride returns to the Tri State Raceway in Earlville this weekend – it’s a huge fundraiser for the Relay for Life.

And a special ride is taking place tonight to kick off the event.

Five cancer survivors from Delaware County will participate in a semi caravan to the racetrack in Earlville. The semis and survivors will gather at the Manchester Whitewater Park parking area along West Main Street at 5:30 pm tonight and then take off in the semis at 6:15 pm.

The caravan will travel on Old Highway 20 to Earlville, where they will meet up with semis carrying five Dubuque County cancer survivors. Then they will head south to the racetrack where they meet each other and take a group photo.

The five cancer survivors from Delaware County riding in tonight’s caravan will be Don Chapman and Cathy Harris, both of Hopkinton, and Bill Rempt, Brian Roling and Shirley Wickman, all of Manchester.

The public is encouraged to support the survivors by seeing them off tonight at the Whitewater parking area around 6:15 pm or watching them drive through downtown Earlville.
