Camp Little Cloud to Celebrate Renovations

All community members are invited to Camp Little Cloud near Epworth later this month to celebrate recent renovations to the Girl Scout camp.

Girl Scouts has a long and storied history of getting every girl outdoors, and that tradition continues as the Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois council looks to the future. Improvements include a new front entrance, cabin upgrades, and a memorial with a fire pit and seating for groups to gather. The memorial was created in dedication to David and Audrey Hammer, champions of Girl Scouts for decades. Through significant donations from David and Audrey, Girl Scouts will continue learning and growing at Camp Little Cloud.

Girl Scout troops in the region are excited to see the property grow to meet the needs of today’s girls. In 2024, a new target sports center will be added to the property, creating the premier facility for Girl Scouts to learn and develop their archery, hatchet, and atlatl skills.

Girl Scouts, as well as community members, are invited to reserve the property for overnight camping trips, as well as events like weddings and retreats. You can learn more about available accommodations online at RusticIowaVenues.com.

The ribbon cutting and celebration will be held May 18th at 5:30 p.m. with a dedication to the Hammer family, tours and the unveiling of future projects.
