Cancer Survivors Honored During MPIYR Thursday Kickoff Ride

On Thursday night, Midwest Pride In Your Ride kicked off their event with a special ride to Earlville.
Five cancer survivors from Delaware County drove in a semi caravan on Old Highway 20 to Earlville, where they met up with semis carrying five Dubuque County cancer survivors who came from Dyersville. They drove down Earlville’s main drag side-by-side and headed out to Tri-State Raceway to mark the official start of the event.
Brian Roling of Manchester was one of the participants who shared his cancer story with KMCH before the ride left Manchester.
Don Chapman of Hopkinton was also one of the cancer survivors on Thursday night’s ride.
Both Chapman and Roling said the semi ride wasn’t anything new for them – other than maybe riding in the passenger seat.
The other three cancer survivors from Delaware County riding in the caravan were Cathy Harris of Hopkinton and Bill Rempt and Shirley Wickman, both of Manchester.Â
