Congresswoman Hinson Visits Flooded Communities in Clayton County

Congresswoman Ashley Hinson visited three cities along the Mississippi River in Clayton County this week to assess the impact of the flooding. 

Hinson says she asked city officials in Guttenberg, McGregor and Marquette about the pump and flood mitigation systems. 

Hinson says if the power goes out the pumps don’t work and that is a concern. She says there also could be some economic impact with the timing of this flood. 

Hinson says long-term protection from the river will continue to be a priority.

The National Weather Service says the Mississippi River is expected to drop below flood stage in those Clayton County communities this weekend.
