Buffalo Creek Park Near Coggon Re-opens

Buffalo Creek Park near Coggon has re-opened, including the campground.

The Linn County Conservation Department made the announcement Thursday morning.

The park has been closed since April so that crews could create a temporary access road for the campground as the park renovation project continues. The water pressure issue that was keeping the park closed a little longer than expected has now been repaired. But the sanitary RV dump station will not be operational until further notice. Buffalo Creek Park campers who need access to the dump stations may use the facilities available at the Pinicon Ridge Park campgrounds near Central City, located six miles away, at no additional charge.

Campers and park visitors should proceed with caution as renovations continue throughout the year. Nineteen additional campsites will be added from the current thirteen. Additional upgrades include a new shower house and restroom facility, as well as a new playground and reservable open-air shelter for the park. The renovations will continue throughout the year and should wrap up during the 2024 camping season.
