Former Dyersville Mayor and Councilmember Passes Away

The Dyersville community said goodbye to a former mayor today.

Dan Willenborg died last Thursday at Accura Healthcare in Cascade. He was 69.

Willenborg served on the Dyersville City Council for twelve years. He was also elected mayor, leading the City of Dyersville for two years from 2016 to 2017. 

Dyersville City Administrator Mick Michel says Willenborg, as a former mayor and city council member, exemplified a deep passion for serving others and a steadfast commitment to enhancing our city. Michel says Willenborg’s legacy will continue to inspire as the City strives to uphold his vision for a better future.

Funeral Mass for Willenborg was held this morning at 10:30 am at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville.
