Camp Courageous Hosting Annual Charity Car Show Event

It’s time to go “Cruisin’ for Camp Courageous”.

This annual event takes place this Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm at Camp Courageous near Monticello. It’s one of Iowa’s largest charity car shows, featuring hundreds of show cars, vintage vehicles, motorcycles, and trucks – with many unique attractions and events for the whole family.

Presented by the Cedar Valley Street Rods, this year’s show will include a Monster Truck on display, a “Bumble Bee” Camaro with props available for photo ops, and a Tesla S Plaid that can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in one-point-nine seconds.

This event will also have a large silent and live auction, several food stands, music, and craft show. 3D Sound will provide music and commentary, with pin-striping demonstrations on the grounds, along with laser tag, kids’ games, prizes, and much more. And a food truck will be on site.

The Camp Courageous train will be offering rides to all ages, there will be zipline rides for only $10 each and special guest “Salute to the Fallen” will be on display with a special presentation before the live auction.

Registration for the car show is $20, with registration running Sunday from 8 am to noon. All participating vehicles will receive two passes for the show. First and second place trophies will be awarded in 24 different classes, with the last award of the day being the “Spectator’s Choice” given to the vehicle voted as the fan’s favorite.

Cost to attend is $5 for adults, with kids 12 and under free when accompanied by an adult.

All proceeds from this Cruisin’ event go to Camp Courageous, which serves nearly 10,000 special needs campers every year.
