Debra Ann Schroeder – Edgewood

Debra Ann Schroeder, 71, of Edgewood, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at the Edgewood Convalescent Home in Edgewood. She was born on January 24, 1952, in Peru, Illinois, the daughter of George and LaVonne (Kepper) Rosandich. Deb was raised and educated in Portage, Indiana, and was a 1970 graduate of Portage High School. She moved to Iowa and worked at Dew Drop In Café where she met her future husband.

On June 24, 1971, Deb was united in marriage to Dennis Schroeder in Garber. Two children were born to this union. They farmed together in the Garber area. The couple later divorced. Deb continued to live in the Garber and Edgewood area. Deb retired from Rockwell Collins after over 20 years.

Deb enjoyed cooking, gardening, bowling, and darts. She was a pool shark. Deb loved riding her Harleys. When she was younger, Deb was a member of the Anchor Inn Rope Pulling Team and played softball. She had many friends and loved making memories with them. Above all else, Deb cherished her family and loved spending time with them.

Survivors include her two children, Kerry (Craig) Jackson of Mechanicsville and Toby (Tracy) Schroeder of Garber; five grandchildren, Kelcee Amling, Sawyer (Jordan) Amling, Haley (Grant) Judkins, Spencer (Taylar) Amling, and Riley Schroeder; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Pete (Linda) Kinsler of Union Mills, Indiana; nephew, Peter (Melissa) Kinsler; and niece, Andi (Cayleigh) Kinsler.

Deb was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather, Andy Kinsler.

Memorial Service: 3:00 p.m., on Friday, June 2, 2023, at Elkport/Garber Community Center in Elkport, Iowa, with Rev. Linda Hauschild officiating.
