Manchester & Local Communities Hosting Memorial Day Services

Memorial Day services are being held across the area on Monday – and like most communities, Manchester will be putting up flags this weekend.

Manchester Legion Commander Warren Coates says they’d appreciate any help putting up the flags on Saturday morning.

Volunteers should meet at 7 am Saturday at the Oakland Cemetery. The Manchester Legion will be hosting a Steak Fry on Saturday night from 4:30 to 7:30 pm. And Memorial Day services in Manchester will be held Monday at 10:30 am.

And then at 3 pm on Monday, there will be a National Moment of Remembrance – this is an annual event that asks Americans, wherever they are at 3 pm local time on Memorial Day, to pause for one minute to remember those who have died in military service to the United States.

Here is a look at several other local Memorial Day services:

Memorial services in Delhi will begin at 10 am on Monday at the city park, with an open house to be held immediately afterwards at the newly-remodeled Delhi Legion.

Greeley’s Memorial Day services will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Greeley at 10:30 am Monday, with a military service following.

Earlville’s Memorial Day services will begin at 10:30 am Monday at the Fairview Cemetery Square.

And the Ryan Legion Post 692 will be conducting services on Monday at several locations, including the Ryan Calvary Cemetery at 8:45 am, the Lutheran Cemetery at 9 am, the Golden Cemetery at 9:25 am, Silver Creek Cemetery Monti Bridge at 10:10, Monti Cemetery at 10:25, Masonville Cemetery at 10:50 and the Ryan Veterans Memorial at 11:30.
